I liked these types of videos, but they contain the implicit message that failing is okay IF YOU EVENTUALLY SUCCEED HUGELY. I’d like to see a discussion on whether or not risk, which the video equates with life, is worth it if you never succeed, if you indeed live and die as a “failure.” Does the risk still have merit?

  3. Heidi, you’re right that these types of videos/stories always point to people who were deemed failures but became hugely successful.

Risking to go for your dream always has merit. While you may live and die without ever quite reaching your dream, it does not mean you have failed. Many joys, experiences and lessons await those who risk, not to mention the people who become inspired along the way. Even if the last step in your journey is perceived by mankind as “failure,” success is reaching for your dream.

  5. What I have found is that it isn’t failure that people worry about. It is usually mediocrity.
