Subject: Camp GLP Transportation Information
We are counting down the days to camp and as I write this I am ordering all the awesome swag for your camp bags plus planning tons of fun activities for our time together! Get excited!!
A number of people have emailed me with questions regarding transportation to camp, car pools, etc. So, I thought I would send you some information to help you plan your travel. If you are interested in car-pooling, I suggest posting in the Camp GLP Facebook group to coordinate. Also, make sure to check out the directions to/from camp on ourwebsite here.
GETTING TO CAMP
If you are flying, then I recommend flying into Newark International Airport.
We will have shuttle buses picking up at scheduled times from the Middletown, NY, train station on Thursday, August 27th.
LaGuardia or JFK airports – you can fly into either of these as well, with LaGuardia being the closer option of the two. To get to camp, you will need to take a shuttle or cab to NYC and then a bus to Monticello, NY. We will have shuttles from the bus station to camp. This is definitely the longer, more complicated, route. Alternately, you can rent a car and drive directly to camp if that behooves you. (Yes, I just used the word behooves.) There’s a parking lot at camp where your car will be safe for the weekend.
You can also explore the option of arriving at Stewart International Airport which is located in Newburgh/New Windsor, New York. It is a much smaller airport with not as many flights, so this might be more expensive. But, it is really close, about 30 min from camp. We don’t have transportation to/from this airport, so renting a car is the best bet, and cheaper than taking a taxi back and forth. You can check out car rental info on the airport’s website.
Getting to Newark Airport
If you’re able to stay for the entire day (camp ends at 2pm on Sunday, August 30th), we have arranged for a charter bus to take campers straight to Newark airport. The bus will leave camp at 2:45 pm and arrive at the airport around 5pm. So, if you can schedule your flight home for 7 pm or after (giving yourself 2 hours lead time), this is definitely the easiest transportation option. The bus back to the airport will be $45.00/per person. If you want to reserve your spot, CLICK HERE.
If you have to leave before 2:45 pm to catch a flight, click here, to see the train times going back to Newark airport. We will be providing transportation for the 9:13 am and 11:13 am shuttles. You’ll be able to take a taxi for any other times.
Getting to LaGuardia Airport
If you are interested in taking a shuttle directly to LaGuardia from camp on Sunday, leaving at 2:45 pm and arriving at approximately 5 pm, please fill out this form. If there is enough interest, we will also arrange for a bus to go directly to LaGuardia. The price for this bus will also be $45/per person.
For an earlier departure, see the bus schedule going back to NYC, here. Shuttles/taxis will be available to get to the bus terminal in Monticello, NY.
For directions to/from JFK Airport – click here. Shuttles/taxis will be available to get to the bus terminal in Monticello, NY.
And again, for a rundown of all directions from all airports, check out the Camp GLP site here.
I know this is a lot of info, so if you have any questions or need assistance, please email me (reply to this email) or call me at 914-458-1885.
Can’t wait to see you all in August!

Subject: Camp GLP Countdown is On!
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON! We are now 3 months away from our first day of Camp GLP and are so excited that you will be joining us! We can’t wait to reconnect with all of our awesome campers who were with us last year and welcome new friends into our beautiful community. We’re cooking up some awesome experiences for you that we know will make your time unforgettable.
Here’s a preview of a few things you can be looking forward to:
This year’s soulful and super-charged keynote line-up includes:
Derek Halpern – Founder of Social Triggers and world-class expert on the psychology of consumer behavior.
Susan Piver – NY Times bestselling author, founder of the Open Heart Project and renowned meditation teacher.
Aviva Romm, MD – Internationally-acclaimed functional medicine visionary, bestselling author and expert of women’s health and the use of healing herbs and natural therapies.
Plus, we’ll share one or two more in the weeks to come so stay tuned!
We’ve also got a great collection of new workshops and shared activities to fill yourGood Life Buckets™ – Contribution, Connection & Vitality. And, like last year, for those who will not be on the “official” roster, but would love to share your gifts with other campers, we’ll be bringing back the wildly popular Camper Meet-Up Times, where anyone can post a session they would like to lead on the meet-up board, then play with those who come.
We’ll start announcing workshop offerings soon and registration will begin in mid-July.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Creatives – Last year, everyone wanted to take advantage of all the great business workshops, and missed out on cultivating their creative side. So, this year we will have more artsy options available during the day/evenings for you to enjoy.
Business Workshops – They all sound great, but sadly, we realize you can’t make it to all of them. So, this year, we are recording the biz workshops and will have the recordings posted on our site after camp.
Introverts – There are a fair amount of introverts among us (Jonathan and I are two of them!) so we’ll be offering lower-key activities like crafting, games and conversations in the Dining Hall ”Commons” during the night of our dance party.
Yoga/Movement – We start the day EARLY with meditation and yoga, and we know this doesn’t work for everyone – so, we’re adding in more movement classes during the day for those of you who want to move, but like to catch a few more zzzzz’s.
Also, be sure to join in the conversation in our (closed) Camp GLP – Facebook groupfor campers, volunteers, and workshop leaders to communicate, share what we’re looking forward to, maybe collaborate on travel to/from camp, brainstorm camp prank ideas… you get the picture. 🙂 But please, no soliciting or overt self-promotion. If you are new this year, please head on over to the group page, request to join, and one of our admins will approve you asap.
Don’t forget – Camp is always more fun with friends!
Please feel free to send some shout-outs to any of your friends or partners you think could use a mega-dose of personal and business-growth and crazy-cool FUN. When you refer a friend who signs up, you will get a $25.00 credit to use at our Camp Store. Just make sure they mention your name as the referral source.
