Laughing so hard I snorted mint tea through my nose!
Thanks for a great start to the day!
Hahahaha! Oh man, I needed this today.
So at what point do you give up on the social-media-time-wasting post and decide to chronicle your morning instead?
And I love the 2 seconds of meditation.
this is hilarious
skip “5:40-5:42 best part” burns
I love the one minute of yoga between 6:56 and 6:57.
Classic. And there was me thinking I was the only one who wondered about the toe thing.
Jesus-on-a-laptop–hysterically laughing!!! Thanks for this, Jonathan. Great after a long weekend : )
Really cool Jonathan! Btw, I like #23
What? You don’t check your email?
You’d better get on that!
You clearly got a hold of my routine somehow. I don’t remember Tweeting that…oh hold on (checking TweetDeck) No, I didn’t put that out there, let me ask everyone. (sending Tweet about Tweet). Nope, nothing.
My Google chat buddies. Let me ask them. Nope nothing. I better check Google Reader. (cause I subscribe to myself). Nope nothing. So I guess I never did publish this schedule for myself. Glad that’s over. Man, I got a lot done today. I better write a post about this.
I’d have spit my protein shake out through my nose, too, but I don’t drink the shake until 7:10, after 10 minutes cuddling with the dogs and cat while checking the forums I admin. Otherwise – man, you *nailed* my 5:30 – 7 a.m. Thanks for the smile. This Tuesday needs it!
That is more true than you know. Really.
Love it!
This is frigging classic.
I especially love the bits like Item 23 and 24. You know, somebody needs to write about this. Wait a sec: http://www.productiveflourishing.com/the-key-to-consistent-creativity-and-productivity/
Oh, and: http://www.productiveflourishing.com/how-to-lose-an-hours-creative-mojo-in-two-minutes/
I normally wouldn’t leave links to my own stuff in the comments, but I felt compelled to this time. Time to go feel inauthentic and worry about why I don’t have time to release my thing this week. ;p
Yeah, pretty much.
Awesome – and true – pretty much down to the second.
Thanks
Wow this makes me want to chronicle my morning routine. I will try it tomorrow but I hope it’s not as disjointed as this! I’m sure I’ll learn a lot. Thanks for the chuckles…
I love the minute of yoga, too! Definitely feels like most of my mornings. And afternoons. And, um, sometimes evenings…
I love your meditation and yoga regime. 2 seconds of meditation and 1 minute of yoga. You are my kind o guy. But, how come it takes you twice as long to get your WBK tee on as it does to do yoga? Are you sneaking in a bit more yoga as you slip on the tee? Or maybe a bit more meditation? Just curious.
Since I’ve had the Welcome Back Kotter t-shirt since I was 12, ya know, it’s a bit tight these days…at least what’s left of it…takes a little effort to get it on! LOL
ah but look at the profound questions you came up with, toes longer than each other, navels that dont disappear
What are you doing, sneaking into my house like that?
Jonathan Fields, celebrity stalker!
Nice to know that you suffer from severe distraction, avoidance and mini-meditations like the rest of us, Jonathan.
Oh well, as long as the post gets written!
Hahaha very funny!
I’ve read your book Career Renegade and it’s amazing! I’m using your tips to launch my own blog. Thanks for the push!
HA! Classic!
Haha!
I wish I woke that early!
Either way, because of the routine described above, I had to install productivity manager – LeechBlock. Works magic!
You just limit to when or/and what amount of time you can visit a website and BAM! Magic happens and you don’t waste time
It really encourages me to just focus on the things that matter: posting, guest posting and commenting.
Best,
Tomas
Vinnie Barbarino would approve.
Holy COW, do you get started early!! Is that what I have to look forward to as a parent?? I thought 7:30am was bad.
It’s the price I pay for being a blogger dad.
Jonathan,
You could save a great deal of time each morning if you meditate while doing yoga.
Just trying to help!
Yeah, I’d considered that, but really wanted to honor each of the practices fully and be able to go deep into each, hahaha
LOL……….My day starts much earlier; more like 3:30am, but doesn’t look too much like yours.
But, yours does give me some ideas.
Bloggers typically wake up at 5:30am?!
I laughed at least 3 1/2 times.
Man this is freakin’ funny. One minute morning yoga! TWO second meditation? wtf!? Lol. Nice one Jonathan.
6:28 – Holy crap, never checked twitter for answers about the navel question, jump to tweetdeck, ahhhh
Wow this has happened way too many times for me. Great post and just what I needed this morning.
If this wasnt so funny it would be tragic……….or did I mean if it wasn’t so tragic it would be funny? Either way how do any of us find time to actually do anything when we are so busy?
Classic!
However, one small tip!
Ditch this “Yoga” rubbish and take up smoking instead … it perfect combination with coffee and a proven meal replacement plan with your obvious hectic morning schedule.
At least that way in 20-30 years time you will have seriously “deadly” content to discuss.
Let me know when you post the 12 steps…
Hello, my name is Sherry and I’m a social media addict.
Okay, so in answer to the many who asked, Yes, I do have secret webcams in your home’s carefully observing and recording your morning routines every day, lol!
7:08 – Wonder how prolific Isaac Asimov would have been if he had a Twitter account back then.
Juan Epstein – My favorite character from Kotter. Remember how he always had notes from his mother? Love it!
You are showing your age with that reference:)
you had me at “Check overnight stats”
ROFLMAO

true , blogging is indeed consuming and it is almost like a day job except its something more enjoyable and there is no time pressure except your own. haha
but what i like is i can take time to do many other things and even start as early as i can be and the best is progress without prejudice, u are on your own way man!
so cheers to the alternative life and it may well be fulfilling !
Yes, that’s it exactly! I throw some Mom stuff in there — making lunches, finding glasses/cell phone/papers I signed yesterday, hugs good-bye — but, yes, that’s it!
[...] Typical blogger’s morning to-do list – this made me giggle. [...]
hilarious, I bet that 2 seconds of meditation from 6:42 – 6:42:02 really settles the mind
Great post.
Great stuff…
Feels about like my everyday, all day…
Add – Do my own Photoshop work and – Have a Full Strength to get my mind and body going…
Rock on,
Shawn
