One Day
I was driving home this afternoon, listening to Soundcheck on NPR and had to pull over…
They were doing a tribute to the best live performances of the year, playing each track. When I heard the next song was by a Hasidic reggae artist named Matisyahu, I chuckled and just assumed it was a bit of marketing shtick. Then, the song began and I was, simply, blown away on so many levels. By the beauty of the song, the power of the message and melding of worlds.
Here is the video of the live performance at the WNYC studio…

Excellent song. Thanks for sharing this. I rarely listen to lyrics, because I’m a melody kind of guy, but this one really spoke to me. Now I’m going to sleep with this song going on all night, it’s going to be awesome
Hey Jonathan – Just added your feed today (having grabbed your book at Barnes & Nobel) and this was the first post I read. I can see why this song grabbed you. I stopped listening to NPR (the fault of Tim Ferriss) but these are the voices that I miss. Also found Vusi Mahlasela on NPR (very good). About halfway through the book – so far, so good!
One of my fav artists. Check out his album, “Youth”. If you get a chance to see him live, go. Incredible energy!

Yeah, I couldn’t resist posting this on my Facebook page. I don’t know how I missed it. Many of my friends heard the song on the radio, too.
Thanks so much for sharing!
