Morning Walk
Hazy and cool as we walked to school.
Her little hand wrapped around my pinky, arm swaying to the beat of each step.
Chatting about all things important, and not so.
This IS perfection.

So lovely, so familiar. It’s all about recognizing this magic, I think.
Nothing better (just did it myself).
I know the feeling.
It is the simple things – those little moments that are the treasures of a day and a life actually.
I still enjoy such walks with my daughter.
Life is a series of moments, isn’t it? Years ago, my daughter (then 3) wanted to play outside on a cold, damp, cloudy day. Grumpy (me) finally gave in to her pleas, & opened the garage door so she could play while I sat under shelter. She grabbed an old broom, dipped it in a mud puddle, and began “painting” a masterpiece on the driveway. I’ll never forget that moment and the lesson I learned from my toddler: Attitude doesn’t have to be dictated by external circumstances.
She’s 17 now, practicing the piano while I type this. Capture the moments before they slip away!
I love that time. I got to push my daughter to the park last night in her new tricycle. However, she decided she didn’t want to ride home, and I got to carry her and push the bike the 10 blocks home. I at least got my workout in
My kiddo and I just went to the diner for a milkshake and he told me about his day. It was exactly that word. Perfection.
Really happy that you have a little philosopher in your midst.
Ah yes, that is exactly all there is. Thank you.
That is such an adorable thought – daddy and his little girl walking hand in hand to school. I am so glad you shared your words.
There’s nothing quite like holding a little hand as you walk.
