Have A Little Faith
by Jonathan Fields

To all those who want desperately for me to succeed.
To all those who want me never to experience the pain of failure.
To all those who watch and wonder if I really know what I’m doing.
To all those who stand in judgment, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
To all those who look to me for proof of what’s possible.
To all those who only want the very best for me.
To all those who love me, unconditionally.
I share these words…
Have a little faith.
Have a little faith that I’ll make mistakes, but be able to recover.
Have a little faith that, more often than not, I DO know what’s best for me.
Have a little faith that I have within me the will to rise against adversity.
Have a little faith that I’ll know when to soldier on and when to walk away.
Have a little faith that I will not put myself at unjustifiable risk.
Have a little faith that my heart is in the right place.
Have a little faith that the mainstream path isn’t always the right path.
Have a little faith that I will succeed beyond my wildest imagination, even where those before me have failed.
Have a little faith…and a lot of love.
Now…PASS IT ON!

Thank you for that. It was just what I needed to read.
This is just beautiful, Jonathan!
I’m wondering what motivated you to write this and post it today?
Thank you for sharing it and starting my day in such a lovely way.
Cheers,
Linda
awesomeness. thank you for spreading the joy… and for keeping our non-mainstream paths delightfully decorated with nuggets like this.
[...] just had this in my inbox of Jonathan, Jonathan Fields and thought it is worth sharing with you. It sums it all up and for sure it made me [...]
Faith, Hope, Love….and the greatest of these is Love.
Have a beautiful weekend
So sweet and so true! Loved the picture too. Have a great weekend!
Jonathan,
After a long, long day, this totally brightened me back up.
This could be from me, to… the folks who tried to make my day more difficult than necessary, it could be from my daughter to me on occasion, to her father, or to the world.
Like Linda, I am dying to know what inspired it.
Beautiful, hopeful, and enlightening. I feel more awake at the wheel already.
Regards,
Kelly
Lovely. And that photo…powerfully charged.
Bookmarked. Thanks. Curious the cat here too…inspiration?
@ Everyone – hey gang, glad you enjoyed.
Several of you asked why I wrote this today, both in the comments and in a number of private e-mails I received.
I actually wrote the headline about a month ago, when I heard the song by the same name, which I absolutely love, and it stirred memories, emotions and experiences that eventually found their way into today’s post…a month later.
Sometimes you have to plant the seed, then sit back and let it blossom when the time is right. Don’t know why today was the day, maybe because it’s around the time of my daughter’s birthday.
It just felt right and the rest flowed onto the page in a matter of a few minutes.
This is often the way it works when I write posts, articles, poems, books that are more soul driven. Then, there’s that moment before I hit publish when I wonder whether to just delete it or risk exposing a side of me that doesn’t always bubble to the top.
Most of the time, I let it ride, and I am pretty much always glad I did.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
I’m impressed that you focused on the loving & positive people in your life – because it is so easy to give our power away to the negative & toxic ones. I’m inspired, thanks!
That’s a pretty good poem. People do need to have some more faith, instead of being so depressed all the time.
What a beautiful poem – and powerful words! Thanks Jonathan!
Thank you so much. I really needed this.
God Bless.
StumbleUpon brought me here…and I’m glad it did!
